The beaver told the rabbit as they stared at the Hoover Dam:
No, I didn't build it myself, but it's based on an idea of mine.

About

Beaver Slap! is a playful group experience made for vacations, lake houses, and long weekends. No turns. No winners. Just antics, laughs, and “remember when” moments.

We’re deep in playtesting. Full details coming soon. For now, this page is for our test colony. Thanks for slapping your way through it with us!

Alternative Rules

Number of Cards

Feel free to deal out fewer than 5 cards per player. Maybe you want to start slow (like 3 cards) and then increase by one card at each Beaver Council.

When to Play

There’s no official clock, but many colonies go with something like 9 to 9. Or after lunch and before dark. It’s totally up to your crew. Just agree on your hours. Mealtimes are fair game (some of the best laughs happen around the table).

Where to Play

Beaver Slap! works best anywhere you’re sharing space like a vacation rental, staycation, or grandma’s house. If you take it public, channel your inner polite beaver. Keep the antics friendly and the volume in check. Curious onlookers? Send ’em to beaverslapgame.com.

Number of Days

Multi-day vacations are gold. You can hold onto a card (especially a Dam!) and slap it back the next day. Sweet revenge.

Shorter trip? No problem. Just split the day. Run a Beaver Council at lunch, then play fresh for the afternoon. Party vibe? Try an early round, then reset for late night hijinks.

FAQs

Can I change this rule or that rule?

Absolutely. We love lodge rules. You be you.

What is the maximum number of cards you can Slap! somebody with at the same time?

Three. Any more than that and you might have a beaver rebellion.

Does a Dam card apply to all cards if I'm Slapped Silly?

Nope. If you get slapped with multiple cards at once and have a Dam card you want to play, it only thwarts one of them. You (the Slappee) get to choose which card to Dam.

What if we have more than 12 players?

No problem! Beavers are quite adaptable. Reduce the hand size. For 13 to 15 players, use 4-card hands. For 16 to 20 players, use 3-card hands. And so on. It's just a math problem.

What happens if I play Self-Inflicted Wound and the Slappee doesn't have any Slap! or Colony cards?

If they’re out of unused cards or only holding Dam cards, pick a new target for Self-Inflicted Wound. No penalty for trying.

What if you mess up (e.g., forget to say Dude)?

Don't worry, you won't be voted out of the lodge. Take the ribbing, laugh it off, and keep on slappin’.

What if #BeaverSlap is played, but I don't have social or don't want my kid's photo online?

So you're the hold-out. Good for you. Not everyone’s into posting, and no one’s sending the Beaver Secret Police to confiscate the deck. Share if you want, skip it if you don’t. Your lodge, your rules.

Can the Stunt Double be the Slapper, or does it have to be someone else?

Yes, you may send it back to the Slapper, you little evil genius. Bwahahahahaha!

Can a player refuse to do a card?

Of course. Maybe someone's having a bad day. Read the room. If your sibling just had a melt-down over not getting more ice cream, save the Slap! for later.

What if a Slappee can’t do both actions at once (e.g., stay silent and recite the alphabet backwards)?

A wise beaver would never waste a card like that. Just do the actions one after the other.

Can I use the Internet or AI for help?

If you must, but not for the Rhyme Time card. Beavers are natural problem-solvers. Show off your instincts.

A Big Beaver Thank You!

Thanks for playing, testing, and helping us patch the leaky parts.
